Coloring Grayscale Landscape Scenes

Coloring Grayscale Images, especially landscape scenery is quite fun. Don’t be intimidated! I love creating coloring books with my grayscale photographs. Below is an image I colored using Derwent Inktense colored pencils and Prismacolor colored pencils. When you begin coloring, start with lighter colors such as the yellow in the trees, then orange, then some browns and greens. For the water I used my white pencil and light gray pencil, then shaded over it using a light blue pencil, which blended the two colors nicely.

As with all my scenic landscape coloring books, I include the full color images for you to follow. In grayscale, use the shading to your advantage. You’ll be amazed what you can do with the shading already in the picture. The image on the left is the color image included with the book. The image on the left is the grayscale image I colored with my pencils. Enjoy! Check out my youtube channel for a simple and quick tutorial on coloring grayscale. All my books are available on Amazon. Feel free to post your colored pages from any of my coloring books in the comments at this blog. Grace Brannigan on Amazon
